Children’s Miracle Network
Since 1986, Children’s Miracle Network has been Phi Mu’s primary philanthropic focus. There are 170 children’s hospitals nationwide that benefit from our collegiate and alumnae chapter fundraising events held yearly.
Phi Mus have raised over $6.5 million for Children’s Miracle Network since it became our national philanthropy. Funds have been raised through a variety of events including dance marathons, golf tournaments, Hoop-A-Paluza,
pageants and cook-offs. As a national fundraising partner with Children’s Miracle Network, Phi Mu must raise at least $500,000 for Children’s Miracle Network annually. Each collegiate and alumnae chapter is responsible
for raising funds for this important philanthropy.
"It's difficult to really comprehend what all the fundraising for CMN means until you see the kids and their families and what this means to them. It’s then that it really hits home and makes you realize how important the
work you are doing really is." - Jamie Chiodetti, Beta Mu Chapter President.
To submit donations, please mail checks to Phi Mu Foundation, 400 Westpark Drive, Peachtree City, GA 30269. All chapter and individual checks should be made payable to Children’s Miracle Network. Chapter donations must be
received by December 31 each year.

Hoop-A-Paluza
Phi Mu Foundation has partnered with Hoop-A-Paluza, Inc. to launch a signature fundraising event to be used in communities and on college campuses across the United States.
Hoop-A-Paluza is a basketball free throw contest, originated by Hoop-A-Paluza Inc.
Phi Mu chapters looking for a new event to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network have adapted this event for use on their campus. Phi Mu is the exclusive Greek sponsor of Hoop-A-Paluza and it may only be used by Phi Mu to
raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network.

National Philanthropy Day
Each year on the third Monday in October, Phi Mu sisters across the country come together to serve their communities. They work together by devoting their time, skills and energy to a philanthropic cause.
Phi Mu was the first Greek organization to declare a National Day for hands-on service projects nationwide. Phi Mu’s everywhere are proud to continue the tradition of lending to those less fortunate a helping hand.

Heart & Hand Fund
Foundation also provides support to our sisters who experience tragedy. The Heart and Hand Fund provides emergency grants for collegiate and alumnae members in good standing who need assistance as a result of a natural disaster declared by the
federal government. Grant amounts typically range from $250 - $1,000. Grants are provided to assist members with basic necessities such as food, clothing, housing, immediate medical care, transportation or funeral expenses. In addition, education
expenses, including books and supplies, may be eligible for assistance. Chapter dues and obligations are not eligible expenses.
Scarves: A Fashionable Alternative
To support oncology research and women dealing with hair loss from disease or treatment, Phi Mu Foundation distributes Scarves: A Fashionable Alternative in DVD or VHS format.
The Scarves video was originally produced by Dinah Armstrong Kukes, Alpha Mu. Dinah lost her hair as a result of chemotherapy treatments, yet she realized how important it was to look and feel her best during that time. She also wanted to inspire
other women who lost their hair due to illness so that they too could enjoy active lifestyles while in treatment. This desire to help others, along with her flair for fashion, led her to produce Scarves: A Fashionable Alternative. “How you look is so
important to your attitude and treatment. For this reason, I’ve tried to share what I’ve learned with other cancer patients,” Dinah stated.
Scarves was recently updated into a new DVD format with the help of Rikki Ragland Marver, Phi Theta, a spokesperson and model. All proceeds from the sale of Scarves fund oncology research through the Dinah Armstrong Kukes Fund of Phi Mu Foundation.
The video and DVD are available for $20 each. For more information about Scarves or to make a purchase, contact: Phi Mu Foundation, 400 Westpark Drive, Peachtree City, GA 30269 or (770) 632-2090 or use the form linked below.

Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue
Another service Phi Mu Foundation provides is distribution of the children’s book Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, I Beat Cancer…So Can You! The book was written for children by a 10-year old cancer survivor to encourage children facing cancer treatment.
Because of Phi Mu’s relationship with Children’s Miracle Network, the author and her family graciously offered the book’s copyright to the Phi Mu Foundation. The Foundation distributes copies of the book, free of charge, to all Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.
Upon request, the book is also sent to others who have the opportunity to positively impact children diagnosed with cancer. Please contact the Business Manager at (770) 632-2090 for more information.
