Cannonball House

The Cannonball House is a historic Civil War era home preserved in Macon, Georgia. Macon is the birthplace of Phi Mu Fraternity. The two main parlors in the home are devoted to displays about the two national fraternities for women founded in Macon – Phi Mu and Alpha Delta Pi.

The front parlor of the Cannonball House is known as the Philomathean Room. It is a memorial to the Philomathean Society which became Phi Mu Fraternity. It houses many rare and beautiful pieces dating back to the 1850s.

The Foundation is responsible for the maintenance and insurance of the Philomathean Room. Restoration of many archival items has been funded by the Foundation. The Foundation also provides brochures that describe the room and furnishings for visitors who tour the house.
